Job Description
About the role
As a Network engineer you will design, implement, and maintain reliable and secure network systems.
Network Infrastructure Management: Maintain and support the network infrastructure, ensuring compliance with software, firmware, and security standards across all systems.
Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor and analyse network performance using appropriate tools and reporting systems to maintain optimal efficiency and reliability.
Documentation & Support: Develop and maintain accurate documentation, and provide training, troubleshooting, and diagnostic support to the service desk, improving both system access and end-user experience.
ICT Collaboration: Work closely with the ICT team to design and implement networks that support new applications, systems, and evolving security policies.
Server Support: Assist the Server team in maintaining server environments, including the upkeep of hardware, firmware, hypervisors, and essential applications.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
We’re looking for a highly skilled professional with advanced expertise in network architecture, protocols, and technologies—including LAN/WAN, VPNs, SD-WAN, firewalls, and cloud networking. The ideal candidate will be able to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently, working closely with server and application teams to minimise disruptions. A solid background in implementing and managing robust network security measures and the ability to monitor and analyse performance to optimise network efficiency is essential. Strong communication skills are key, with the capacity to translate technical information into clear, practical terms for a range of stakeholders. Additionally, proficiency in developing detailed documentation and delivering hands-on training will support knowledge sharing and ensure operational continuity across the ICT environment.
Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT, or Network Engineering
Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or CompTIA Network+
Cloud networking certifications like AWS Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer Associate
Experience with hybrid ICT environments, including on-premises server management and Microsoft cloud tools (M365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune)
