Job Description
About the role
This role is crucial in protecting the organization's systems and data by proactively monitoring, detecting, and responding to potential security threats. By ensuring a secure and resilient infrastructure, it plays a key role in maintaining operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Cybersecurity Toolset Management: Maintain, configure, and optimize cybersecurity tools and technologies to ensure effective detection, prevention, and response to security threats.
Security Event Investigation: Analyse and respond to security events, including log reviews, incident assessments, and root cause analysis to mitigate risks.
Threat Intelligence: Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends to proactively recommend improvements to security measures.
Incident Response: Support the development and execution of incident response plans, ensuring timely containment, eradication, and recovery from security breaches.
Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor security systems and generate detailed reports on events, metrics, and overall system performance for stakeholders.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, network, and application teams, to ensure robust security across all systems.
Compliance: Assist in ensuring the organization's adherence to relevant security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Training and Awareness: Provide training or guidance to team members and stakeholders on cybersecurity best practices to enhance organizational security posture.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance cybersecurity processes, workflows, and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
We are looking for an analyst with a forward-thinking mindset and strong attention to detail. You will work closely with the Cyber and Information Security Manager and collaboratively with the full ICT team. You should be proficient in using SIEM tools (e.g., Rapid7, CrowdStrike) for monitoring and analysing security events, Knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), firewalls, and endpoint protection tools and familiarity with network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS) and operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix).
. Qualification and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Security Certifications: Industry-recognized qualifications, such as:
CompTIA Security+
ISC2 CISSP
SANS GIAC
Demonstrated expertise in hybrid ICT environments, including On-premises and Cloud-based applications within a Microsoft ecosystem (M365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune).
