The purpose of the Master Scheduler role is to improve the quality and presentation of schedule data to enable more informed business level decisions.
Job Description
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive & current schedule that integrates all activities to ensure successful project or operational execution. They create, input & maintain data for Project Delivery Plans, Risk & Issue registers & Contract Master schedules across an enterprise programs portfolio. This position reports directly to the Programs Operations Planning Manager and works closely with the Program Analyst to ensure a cohesive approach to reporting and analysis of program status.
Primary Duties:
Developing and Managing Schedules: Creating and maintaining an integrated master schedule for projects or operations, including identifying milestones and deadlines.
Resource Allocation: Assessing & requesting allocation of resources (time, personnel, materials) across different tasks and projects to meet milestone targets.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with project managers, stakeholders, and other teams to understand project requirements and dependencies.
Risk Management: Identifying potential schedule conflicts and risks and assisting in development of mitigation strategies.
Monitoring and Reporting: Tracking progress against the schedule, identifying variances, and reporting on project status.
Continuous Improvement: Evaluating and refining the scheduling process to improve efficiency and effectiveness as directed & approved by Programs Operations Planning Manager.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience
Proven experience in a similar role supporting large-scale programs (not just single projects), ideally involving multiple concurrent workstreams.
Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret program data, with proficiency in Microsoft Project, Power BI, SharePoint, Project for the Web & Excel for reporting, dashboards, and insights.
Experience working in PMO environments
Experience in Defence sector desirable.
