Responsibilities:

• Conducting optical assembly and testing processes with precision and attention to detail.
• Collaborating with the engineering team to develop and improve optical systems and components.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues related to optical equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with quality standards and efficient production processes.
• Providing mentorship and training to junior technicians as required.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of manufacturing procedures and techniques.

Experience and qualification:

• 10+ years of experience in a high precision optical manufacturing environment, and/or
• 10+ years of experience in a high precision mechanical manufacturing environment is highly desired
• Minimum NCEA Level 3 (with success in Maths, English, and Physics)
• Bachelor of Science or Engineering is highly regarded

• Have a thorough understanding of the processes and equipment to lead and supervise the manufacture of high precision optical components from a range of materials
• Results driven with attention to detail and high accuracy
• Work collaboratively and has strong communication and influencing skills
• Demonstrates ability to learn, has practical engineering ability and problem-solving skills
• Strong customer focus
• Physcially able to carry items weighing up to 20 kgs.
