We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Australian and international standards, and supporting group consolidation processes. 

Please note, this is a 16-month fixed term parental leave contract.

About the Role

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with AASB and IFRS.
  • Lead local statutory reporting and ensure alignment with global consolidation requirements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including intercompany reconciliations and journals.
  • Support group audit processes and liaise with external auditors and global finance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian tax and regulatory obligations (BAS, FBT, PAYG, PTRS, income tax, payroll tax, ABS Surveys).
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support local and global decision-making.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning local plans with group strategy.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and financial systems in line with global standards.
  • Mentor junior accountants and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-border teams on finance transformation and digital initiatives.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CA or CPA qualified (essential).
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in financial accounting, ideally within a multinational or listed company.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS, and global reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor or similar) and advanced Excel skills; PowerQuery or PowerBI experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to group consolidation, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency accounting.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage complex reporting requirements and tight deadlines in a fast-paced global environment.
